A Newcastle Waste and Recycling Plant required a new wash bay that could support a busy fleet and give the workshop a reliable way to clean parts, wheels and heavy components.

The team knew what they liked from another wash bay installed by East Coast Water Blasters, the region’s SPITWATER Dealer. They wanted a setup that delivered the same performance. They were unsure of the technical requirements, so they asked East Coast Water Blasters for guidance.

The Challenge

East Coast Water Blasters visited the site to confirm the layout, look at daily workflow and recommend a complete SPITWATER solution that would address the key challenges on site.

The challenges included:

  • A high volume of fleet wash downs each day
  • Multiple users of the wash bay so the solution needed to be simple
  • Supporting workshop teams cleaning parts, wheels and heavy components
  • Improve safety by removing the need to walk around blind corners to start or stop equipment
  • Reduce labour by speeding up detergent application and wash times
  • Give workshop staff controlled access to hot water without opening the burner to all operators
The Results

The new setup delivered immediate improvements for the Waste and Recycling Plant.

  • The wash bay now delivers fast, reliable cleaning for both fleet and workshop teams
  • Operators picked up the controls quickly during handover.
  • The installation keeps workflow simple and reduces unnecessary movement around the site.

East Coast Water Blasters has continued to support the customer after the install. A minor leak appeared a few days after installation, the team attended site straight away and resolved the issue. No further problems have been reported since.

Solution Suited to Industry

This configuration suits waste, transport, civil and heavy industry operations that need a reliable wash bay with strong throughput.

The combination of hot water, chemical injection, remote control and a fixed installation gives teams faster cleaning, safer operation and consistent results.
